Post by: thesword22 on 15 March 2009, 09:47:30
first of all hello guys and gals

i hve just purchased a 2000 plate omega 2litre auto. the remote locking did not operate so i assumed it was the battery. i took the two keys into vauxhall to find out if they could do the battery cos i know some of the keys are coded so i thought better safe than sorry

the bloke i spoke to said that any one can change the battery so off i went
i only got one of the key fobs battery chnged just in case.

well now the car runs but the engine management ligt is on i believe it is running in limp mode.

has any one got any suggestions as to wat is going on please.

any help is appreciated
cheers

It's got to be a fluke :-?. Do a paper clip test to find out what's upsetting the car. :y

Check all vac pipes are secure with no leaks. Have a poke around and see if the wires to the lambda sensor are not frayed. Remove black "Ecotec" cover look down into plugwells to see if they`re full of oil. Fouled up plugs will throw an o2 fault code :y

right well i have just been down to work to get some tools

i have checked the vac pipes and there all fine i have replaced one of the accordian hoses which was obviously split cos it had duct tape round it lol

the lambda sensor wire is fine as well and there is no oil in the plugs either so im stumped

also it does not appear to be in limp mode cos it drives fne and has gone to just over 60 and still going.

any help its annoying me and i have to go to leeds tomoz  :-/

cheers
