Ok, the system was re gassed last July and tested for leaks, all was ok and running well, however yesterday was a little warm so flicked the electronic control from ECO to AUTO, however the system did not seem to kick in, previously the engine note changed and some of the many fans at the front end would jump into life.
I have checked fuses and all seem ok, am now puzzled as to what could be the cause, anyone have any ideas as to where look next :-/??
Cheers
Steve

Low gas is the usual reason...
Ideally, this could do with always being left on, but as a minimum, turned on at least weekly to keep the seals and the compressor lubricated.

If the gas was low would the system start but just not go cold, or is it a feature to stop damage from occuring?

It won't start if the pressure is too low (or too high)

ok, normally turned on, but as tempratures have not been too bad for the last few days had turned the system off,, beginning to wish i hadnt now..!!
Looks like a job for the specialist then !!

Just one thought, is the system belt driven or purely electronic ?? only I have a strange vibration and the gearbox was ruled out was wondering if maybe i have lost a belt of some sort?
-
check the aux belt under bonnet. The bottom right pulley has a "plate" looking thing on the front. With lo on the display(to be sure) and eco not selected the plate should be spinning same speed as the belt. If not its either out of gas most likely or bad connection. Dont go to halfords and the like for re gas. Use an ac specialist.
Good news is summers coming, first ac post of the year perhaps?

I use a vauxhall specialist, the lads were vauxhall mechanix that have gone off on their own, they are spot on and dont seem to expensive, and even better do re-gassing

Your belt is fine. If it wasn't, the forum would be full of other posts from you about major overheating and charging issues.

Hi Folks,
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm having exactly the same problems with my climate control.
But I'm also getting error code p1530, which is:
P1530 A/C Relay Voltage HighB-021
P1530 A/C Relay Voltage LowB-021
P1530 A/C Relay Circuit OpenB-021
Is this likely to be caused by lack of (or too much) pressure?
Or is it the relay? If so - where is the relay? :-?
Cheers :y
