Daft as it may sound make sure the light board (plastic thingy with the bulbs in) is clipped home properly, my old chavalier used to go dim as it kept dropping out. Failing that check the 0v has a clean, tight contact. :y

as you can probably tell i am not mechanically minded, whats 0v?

i believe its a brown wire thats got an eyelet on it thats nut & bolted by the n/s light unit, mine had problems as its also the 0v [ground/earth] for the heated rear window on my estate ;)

I would run a wire from the earth point, to the one on the other side. Hope that makes sense. :y
