Title: Stalling
Post by: Scania on 19 March 2009, 16:21:00
Hi everybody I have a 2001 2.2cdx auto that won't run. It starts ok but quickly stalls if I keep blipping the throttle quickly I can catch it from stalling but I can't rev it above 3000rpm as soon as stop blipping the throttle it stalls plus the eml is lit up.
Any ideas please.

A quick and easy thing to try is to clean out the IACV, if that doesn't help you'll need to get the codes read and see what that tells you.

2.2 does not have an idle control valve.

You need to get the codes read, its most likey a cam or crank sensor issue.

I've just had another go at starting the car. If I keep my foot on the throttle the revs will go up to 3k and the drop suddenly back to 2k then rise again to 3k and so on until I take my foot off the throttle at which point the car stalls.
Does this still sound like one of the sensors or could it be the throttle body?
