Title: Sunroof Gremlins
Post by: bigdods on 19 March 2009, 13:36:53
My sunroof has decided to open slightly every now and then all on its own. Happens about once every 3-4 hours of driving (so once a day at the moment) .

As I am driving along I hear a few clicks from the roof along with the motor running for a very short time and then lots of wind noise. It appears to be going a fraction up on the tilt setting. Turning the switch away from centre and back and it closes again.

EVery time this has happened I have been driving at reasonable speed on a motorway or D/C no bumps to dislodge the switch. Is it just a random fault in the switch, should I replace the switch, can it be cleaned...or could it be something else entirely ?

Apart from this gremlin the sunroof works perfectly.

Cheers

Dodsy

I had this occasionally with my last Omega.
Going through the sunroof resetting program seemed to cure it.

How?  I took off the control knob and then ....?  I took this photo - what comes off next?  The illuminated part seems securely fixed in place - more help needed for me I'm afraid. I fiddled to remove the illuminated ring but was afraid of breaking it.  Help please.
