Title: Facelift Estate Towbar
Post by: Ridgeback on 26 March 2009, 12:05:35
Any recommendations or suppliers appreciated.
My caravan has a AL-KO stabiliser so assume swan neck is best option
Getting prepared for the Easter getaway - -hopefully.

You'll need either a swan neck as you suggest or the 'proper' two bolt flange type specifically for an Al-ko hitch, they need a bit more room under the ball for it to articulate  :y

Thanks for the reply.
I've got the Al-Ko hitch....somewhere in the bowels of my garage, but thought I'd still have to cut the bumper to accommodate it.

All you will have to do is swap the towball over, that's if it's the two bolt fixing type.....If you already have a "swan neck" type fitted then this will accept the Alko hitch no problems. You just need that clearance under the ball to allow the Alko head to fit properly.
No need to do anyother adjustments etc, it will fit.
