Title: Error Code 0336
Post by: damon80 on 26 March 2009, 10:24:28
Hi Folks,

Just been having difficulties starting my Miggy - it did get going eventually, after quite a bit of cranking...

Which makes me think the crankshaft position sensor is goosed.  Done the pedal trick, and it's showing "0336" - but error code for CPS is "0335"  :-?

How difficult is it to change?

Hmmm, so I might not need to replace it after all??

What's the best way of cleaning the sensor?

just change the bugger. Afaik its only the wiring that ever fails due to production line convenience its fitted with the cable to near the exhaust, it will fry the wire eventually, add in some oil from cam covers and any coolent leaks and it all adds up to a failure of the insulation and the cable breaks. Not worth trying to fix it, bin it and route the cable away from the exhaust. Its to important a part to mess with. Hth
