No idea ..... :)
But this thread might tell you .. :)

Do the "pedal trick" and come back with the results .. :y :y :y
BTW .. its not uncommon to trap a knock sensor wire when doing the cam covers, or to leave something unplugged by mistake, so a good look around might help as well .. :)

Did the pedal trick it doesnt seem to work on automatics can you suggest anything else
cheers
-
Do it again. Works on autos and manuals
-
I sat in the car for half an hour it doesent work on my car

Does the lamp work?
-
You are doing it with the engine not running ??? aren't you ..... :(
If you do it as the instructions say you'll either get a continuously flashing lamp, which means no codes stored , or the periodic flashes you need to count.
If you get neither then you are doing something wrong... bulb can't be blown as you say it is on whilst running ???

Is it the EML that flashes up on the Omega when you do the pedal trick? I asked about the lamp working as I was comparing to SWMBO's Astra G. When it throws a fault up is uses one of the engine symbols (plain engine?) and uses the other (Engine with lightening strike)?? for the pedal trick. I just guessed that the later Omegas with the emmisions light did the same. :-/ :y

.....
It'd be bouncing off the limiter!! ;) ;) ;) :y :y

Nah it wouldn't. Starting with WOT causes the ECU to cut off fuel injection. It's to dry out a flooded engine same as you would with a carb.

I did know about the WOT thing. I've had to do it with SWMBO's Hyundai and my Senator in the past. Apparently it's a common call out for the AA/RAC/etc around Christmas. Car's won't start for work because they've been started and moved a couple of feet to let friends & relatives park on drives etc and they're flooded because they were still 'on choke' when they were switched off. :y
-
Yes I did it with the engine off as you cant start the engine and then go to position II on the ignition with the engine running(it turns your engine off)
-
Im gonna try thee paper clip tommorow and see if that works if not then bugger it it can stay on
-
If it's a 2.5 you need to do the paperclip test. Pedal trick is for 2.6/3.2s. :y

are you absaloutly sure that everything is plugge din, i forgot the idle valve plug once and started cursing until i did the paper clip test and it came up with idle valve, i didn't half feel like a dick

If it's a 2.5 you .....
Ah! So it is ;D ..... I blame Entwood for throwing us off the scent!

when you put all the sensors back together was your battery connected ????
if so dis-connect your battery and re plug the connectors back in , then connect your battery ....
this happened to me when i forgot to put the lamba sensor in the eml light came on ,once done the above light went out
hope this works for you
