can anyone tell me what a knackered matrix looks like? as i have just removed mine and it looks nice and clean and was wondering if it might just be a seal?
any help would be great :y

have you tried filling it with water to see if it leaks? or is it just bunged up, as youve got it out you can really give it a good flush or leave to soak with some flushing stuff :y

i will give it a try thanx ;D :y

ok next question. how much water does a matrix supposedly hold?

It's the inside of the thing that gets mucky, not the air-fins (unless you don't have a pollen filter!).
Volume of coolant contained, no idea sorry, but it won't be much, even with a completely unblocked one. Each of the little pipes has a spirally bit of plastic up the centre of it to swirl the water round and aid heat-transfer, (and also reducing the volume inside).

the way i would do it is get the garden hose clipped onto one of the water pipes & give it a blasting, then do it on the other to reverse flush, might be worth giving it little taps to dislodge any stubborn bits etc :y

ok i give that a go tomorrow. bit dark now and the misses wants simpafy with a funny tummy!
thanx :y :y :y

what did you thinkwas wrong with it, if arn't getting nay heat then it prob will be blocked and need flushing stick an old ruber hise on one ehn and jubilie the hose in it the pressure will blast anything out the other end

while taking it out i could see were rusty water had leaked out in the past and the pipes in engine bay had been bypassed giving me no hot air. there was rusty water stain on the carpet under console foamy plastics. i only had me mig a week. love it thou ;)
