Title: Stranded in Slane

and it was all going so well.....

Working in Dublin for a few months and got myself a great flat just across from Slane Castle so I can listen to the concerts. Brought the miggy over and it loves the Irish roads. Parked up last night after getting some shopping all fine. go to it this morning and the starter is spinning away but not one of the 6 cylinders will fire.
Better be something simple as otherwise it may just end up getting cubed as there is no way I can drag it home from here.
Oh..forgot to mention, I have virtually no tools with me, not even a paperclip to check for codes

Any ideas??

Well borrow one...or find something metallic.

No codes =  no hope of a good diag!

AHA.....stole a bit of redundant TV cable and ripped out the centre conductor.

Codes are 12 - 39 - 31 and if I have read the guide correctly, I cannot see why this would stop the stupid thing from starting, so I probably haven't.

Well the 31 could...if the sensor is totaly goosed.

Does it start with a little light throttle?

Nope.....tried a variety of subtle settings while I still had control of my emotions with a decent pause between each and relatively short bursts of starter (around 3 seconds) but nada.
After losing emotional control there were even a couple of 'lead-foot' goes with 6-8 seconds of starter with similar non-result

Lead foot is a waste of energy as it results in the injectors not firing in WOT mode as a method for recovering from a flooded engine!
