Title: crank sensor buggered.

today my love of my life died on m1 , lost revs and engine management light on according to very clever source , crank sensor has given up , now  im going round to the car tomorrow , had to leave it the old dears as very intermitant running and bein an arse , got senors in stock i just need remove old one and pop down , so my question to you good people where the smeg is it located lol i guess tis down the bottom somewhere , and how easy to do ???????

Hello.  It's bolted next to the oil filter and runs up the back of the engine to a connector that sits at the back of the plenum.  Two ways you can do it the hard way, if you've loads of time is follow the existing route.  

The easy way is to trace the cable, unbolt it from engine cut end off. bolt in new cable and run it up the side of the engine to the connector.   :y

i guess you access it underneath the car ?

Sorry, yes. Oil filter on pass side of engine, sensor bolted next to it :y

Dont try to use the existing route,its the proximity to the exhaust manifold that causes the problems with the sensors.
There is a guide on here somewhere,but basically you need to route the wiring up the inner wing behind the brake pipes and pull the top connector over to that side of the engine to connect it up. :y
you might as well leave the old sensor where it is,no point trying to remove it from the car.
