Title: Lubed up and ready to bend over...
Post by: PaulW on 16 November 2007, 17:32:30
Booked the elite in at vx for monday morning to do some work as I just don't have any time to do it myself...

Thermostat replacement
Check and replace rocker gaskets if need be (passenger side plug leads have a bit of oil on them & is smelling of oil)
Check the rear multiram (I re-plumbed it all in via TB's thread, but still won't operate...)

Have Vaux ever done the gaskets properly, dont they use the no-sealant method to ensure a return visit in 3 months!

*update*

...

Thermostat was delivered today... the bag was right... the P/N on the bag was right...

the thermostat IN the bag was the wrong one  :-?

Also, they tried fobbing me off saying to check the rocker gasket on the PASSENGER SIDE would cost £140 as they have to disconnect the fuel lines on the DRIVERS SIDE to gain access...  So had a nice little barmy over the phone trying to convince them in the error of there ways...

So...

Thermostat is getting done now for half the original quote price, and I've told them not to bother with the rocker gasket/cover at all...

Main dealers...  :y
