Title: Lambda sensors
Post by: Eighth_dwarf on 31 March 2009, 11:06:07
Ok, about to rplace the drivers side cat as it have been ratteling around for a while now (although did pass last MOT like it).

Question I have is, How easy is the lambda sensor likely to come out of the old exhaust?

Is it worth re-using the old Lambda sensor as there is no fault on it?

Should I get a new Lambda Sensor?

Would a universal one work? (3 wire isn't it?)

Sometimes they come out eaily and other times they dont. Its hit and miss.

They rarely fail so re-use is a definate option and second hand should not be to pricey.

Well Lambda sensor comes out ok, but can't shift the bolts! Any advice or best just to take it in to get the cat swopped over. Have the part so should only be an hours labour charge at the local trusted mechanic!
