Hi guys. I found your website and was wondering if one of you could help a dutch opel driver out with a problem.
My Omega 2.5 aut (build nov 1997) sometimes suddenly stalls while braking/ approaching crossings or coming of the motorway. I first suspected the crankshaft-sensor (I understand this is a common problem) and replaced it with a new one, but no improvement so far.
I'm not sure if this is in anyway related to the stalling, but the ABS-unit seems to be broken. Fuses blow out instantly, and due to this I have no speedo-signal at the moment. The engine only stalls when I press the brake. When I put the car in P and restart there's no problem, but press the brake and it stalls instantly.
Can anyone help me out with this? Look forward to your comments!
Thanks from Rotterdam

Hoi Joost :)
Not sure, but it could be vauum related. Have you checked all vacuum pipes?
By the way, welcome to the British forum :y

Hi mate
Clean your ICV - Idle Control Valve.
-
Does it stall as you press the brake pedal or as you release it.
For the blowing fuse, you need to check the wiring around the ABS unit for damage.....

guys, no splintergroups here ;D
Thanks for all your comments. A friend of mine who works at a dealership offered to check the motormanagement for any faultcodes so I'll get back to you as soon as I know more. I've checked the ABS-unit and all wiring/connections were ok, I'm thinking the unit is broken.
The ICV is clean so I've ruled that out as the cause of the stalling. I'll be sure to check the vacuumpipes. Let you know!
