Hi all,
The handling on my Omega Saloon has been gradually getting worse. I am pretty sure the dampers need replacing but the back end seems to wobble from side to side when wiggling the steering wheel, almost like some bushes have gone.
Is this a common problem? and how easily is it solved? I don't want to throw loads of money at it as the car is just not worth it. It has (or supposed to have self leveling suspension)
Thanks,
Mark

I had something similar recently on my Elite , turned out one of the springs had broken and was missing about an inch from the bottom.... The only symptom was that the back end felt loose.

wish it was that simple on mine. Have changed springs(one broken), shocks (self level shocks are 150 a pair on trade club, mine leaked oil), and donut bushes failed the mot so changed them as well. Its better but the back still moves around. I dont think the tires help but recently swapped wheels with another member and his dunlops improved it again. But movement could still be felt.
Theory now is the rear donut bushes are not fully home as myself and other members have had trouble with the rear bushes squideing out again. They are a bugger fit correctly.
So some clues there for you. You can fit standard rear shocks and pull the self levell fuse if cost is an issue.

Cheers for the quick replies chaps.
I will inspect the springs and see what state they are in!
Where do you guys get your spares from? I have looked at a couple of sites online but they don't seem to sell dampers or springs.
Cheers,
Mark
