Title: Auto box sport

I know, stupid question - but what actually does sport mode actually do in my mig apart from holding onto the gears longer, drinking more petrol and screaming the tits off my V6, is there anything else?

As said, 'big smile on face', plus your car is maybe worth a few £100s, the person you are now in front of has spent £x1000s = even bigger smile on face.

You've answered your own question. If you had 3 pedals and wanted to drive it harder, or wanted that bit of extra grunt to overtake, you'd be doing exactly the same thing.
