Hi
I have a problem with the multiram intake system on the X25XE intake the valves wont close or function as they should . if you rev the motor and let go of the gas the top one closes for a split second sometimes the bottom one closes aswell so i was wondering do i need to get the vacuum resevoir or coud we have missed a leak on the intake .
Thank You

there are 2 vac tanks on the v6. One mounts on the intake "bag pipes" and the other sits behind the pollen filter housing on the bulk head.
There is a diag. in the maintenance guides section. See link below.
But, assuming the v6 is not factory fit in an Astra, i wonder if you had room to fit the intake, as we see it on the omega, in that engine bay? Blimey...

looks like the earlier Vectra setup. THought that only had one valve, though been a long time since I've seem one.
Common problem is the vac tanks have a 1 way valve in that fails, causing the vac not to hold - easily fixed with an inline valve :)

so if i get a vacuum resevoir they will work because i dont have one fitted now ?

I imagine it should have a res somewhere, but can't remember enough about the older style vectra setup to confirm :-[

are you sure of the correct operation? Not that i am, in as much that i beleive they are closed by default and open when operated by ecu/vac?
Do you have any symptoms/steps in the power delivery. Assuming omega rules apply to your set up of course. ??

i found some pictures on www.tssd.co.uk where they explained how they should work , i found the vectra sport forum and after looking at a few of the pictures i noticed i didnt have the reservoir . the car feels strong but i have read that it could affect the power delivery if they dont function . i just want to get permission from someone to post a pic of his/her enginebay .

You need a vac reservoir.
If you don't, then on wide throttle openings where inlet manifold vacuum is bugger all the multiram wont work :y

Im going to try and get one this week hope the local agents have it .
Thank You :y :y

Vac Tank on the vectra lives on the back of the vectras plenums nr the Brake servo pump pipe
vectra does have 2 multirams one big one and a small one but they run off 1 vac feed
small one does the same job as the omegas front one and big one the rear
based on the experiance of the 97 V6 Vectra B
if you look at the back of your plenum there should be 2 holes to mount the tank on then use 2x tourq bolts to hold him on
