Title: Advice - shock absorber nut

Strange thing is happening. I reassembled my shock absorder and put the nut on. The book says 70Nm but I don't have crows foot socket, so... had an idea. Put 11mm socket on torque wrench set to 70Nm. Held the nut with spanner and the used torque wrench to tighten.

It never got to the click on the wrench but suddenly the nut got very light.... Tried undoing the nut but after 15 mins realised it is just spinning and not actually unscrewing.

I think I may have to use a nut splitter and cut it off. Do you think it is likely to be the nut that's gone or the thread on the shocks? My wrench is set correctly - any idea why this has happend?

Lol.....its likely to be the nut.....got to be honest, that method wont work.

Just do them up tight, its hard to over tighten if using a standard ratchet (dont use a breaker bar)
