What!!! :o :o :o :o
Never realised that!! :o :o ::) ::) How about local auto electrical factor firms? ;)
-
there was a supplier, but think they stopped.
Batteries not user servicable part, so Vx do not stock. You are supposed to change entire PS :o

Just remembered Rob that when I lived in Thornbury I used a great auto parts, electrical and accessory shop** in Patchway, just off the A38 next to the Filton airfield, north of the main Vx dealer Patchway Cars.
If they are still there, may be worth a try? ;) ;) So often I would get bits and pieces from then that Vx couldn't supply. ;)
**EDIT: Just remembered I think they were called Patchway Auto Parts?? :-? :-?

New power sounder for a facelift from VX is £57.70 +VAT (not a TC item but you might get a bit off .. did :) )
Apparently the new part no is: 09 194 455

Try here as I have ordered 4 for the spare PS I have and a defunct one from the other half Vx Astra. Its on the list of jobs to do tho'. I have dismantled them and they match but just haven't got round to soldering them in.

If you look at my pics in the "test zone" the batteries weren`t soldered in, just ni-cad button cell :-/

This cell is a non PCB mount equivalent of those, in the power sounders that I have. Could you make up a small external battery pack with two of these batteries in series and wire it into the power sounder in place of the two button cells.
Just a thought.
