Title: yet another alarm problem
Post by: unlucky alf on 20 April 2009, 21:33:05
my alarm horn is going off when it feels like it >:(, it went off at about 3am & woke me up & again this afternoon & i hadnt used the car, before anybody says the sounder or bonnet switch the sounder isnt there & the switch diconnected, the only thing ive noticed is when i open the door with ign off i hear what sounds like a digital watch beeping coming from behind the glovebox area albeit quietly, which coincides with the interior light coming on, perhaps this has always been there but never noticed it until now, so any suggestions welcome as i would like a good nights sleep :'( ive also turned off the interior sensors so its not them.

Common problem with the omegas  >:( this has also got me up at 2am, only way to kill this is disconnect the power sounder and the horn.

normally its the power sounder that gives the grief, but as mine dont have one ive only got the horn to disconnect, but would rather have some form of alarm apart from this one that has a theft complex ;D

classic power sounder - happened to mine - just changed it - not cheap but just decide whether it is worth it to fix or just disconnect.

Sorry Alf - missed it - have you checked bonnet switch? That is also common cause.

mentioned that on first posting ;) its been a bugger as it done it a while back then behaved itself, now its back with evengance, still want to know what the noise is when i open the door [high pitched bleep kind of thing] & its not a mouse ;D, if it gets me up in the early hours tonight my wire cutters are going to be busy >:(
