Title: Can anyone help with codes 135 and 74

Been away for 2 weeks, got back and battery was completely flat. Charged it up all ok.

Today at work the alarm went off triggered by (I think) the boot or bonnet circuit. I have a feeling it has done this while I was away and that is why the battery went flat. It's had about 50 miles of driving since then.

Anyway, today I did a paperclip test.

I got codes 135 and 74.

I know 135 is telltale (checklight) voltage low - is this the light I count the codes from or a diffrent one? Does 'voltage low'  mean the voltage is too low, or low volatge is not present?
Same with 74; MAF Sensor voltage high - is the voltage too high or high voltage not present?

I can understand low voltages being present considering my battery problems but not high voltage for the MAF.

Before you ask I haven't measured voltages of the battery yet as I've only just done the test as I got back form work.

So, is the 135 much to worry about considering some posts I have seen say not to worry? I'd rather not have the code if I can help it.

Also, for 74, why might I have that code and how can I fix it? Where is the MAF sensor so I can check it's not buggered?

I don't know if these codes existed before I was away for 2 weeks.

The only codes I want to see are 12 and 31, like it used to be.

Forgot to say, apart from the expected 31, codes are same with/without engine running.

pre face lift mafs rarely fail so check the wiring is sound and plug is fully home and in good nic.

Would not worry about the tell tale untill you sort the battery problem myself. But i have no direct experience of that issue.

Maf is next electrical plug in line from the air box, drivers side by head light. Air box to 90 degree elbow to maf. Hth

Thanks; I know which plug it is now...

Any idea what voltages I should expect on the MAF plug?

0.5-1.5v iirc but not sure where in that range it should be...about 1.0v perhaps

74 quite often is just the plug or wiring needing attention/pushing in more firmly

To be honest the week before I went away I did the cam belt so I will have had it on and off several times. I'll check the connection today.

Also after my flat battery I think it's back up and running healthy now. Need to do a few more checks on it but so far looks ok.
