Title: gear box swap

whats involved with swapping a auto box for a manual one is it a case of swapping out the auto and assoated stuff for a manual box and fly wheel ? and what are the differences between a 3ltr manual box and the 2.5 manual box ?.
the reason i ask is i really want a 3 ltr elite but cant seem to find a manual one or the ones i have found are not all that nice but there seem to be alot more auto boxed ones about but the missus will not have a automatic car and i wondered if this was a way of getting the best of both worlds

There is a how to on swapping auto to manual mate...

2.5 is R25 3.0 is R28 so 250 and 280 Nm torque max...very little difference for the manual boxes...I have a 3.0 manual box here if you still need one??

I have a 3.0 Manual Tourer...used to be 2.5 but has 3.0 engine in now :y

so am i right in thinking that the 3ltr box is just stronger than the 2.5 box , i'll look for that how to and please pm me details of that box please.
