I have a loose heat sheild on the engine drivers side , it looks as if the front secruing bolt has pulled through the shield , so plan was to remove the bolt and fit a washer to cover the enlarged hole .
Problem is the bolt will not shift . Question is do I just put up with the rattle as I do not think the bolt will shift or what problem would be caused by removing the sheild all together :y

I believe having it in place improves air flow and hence cooling.

I'd try to keep it in place if possible.

if its broken like mine did around the bolt all i did was fit a huge washer to cover the hole and bolted it back on
tried mole grips on the bolt ?? i used bruteforce and mole grips
