Title: Passenger Seat
Post by: Tonka. on 30 April 2009, 23:21:05
Before I start pulling the seat apart. Can any body tell me how much adjustment is available in the back rests forward and backwards movement.
It is adjusted manually, not via electrics.
Mine will lay down but when wound back up doesn't quite reach vertical.

The drivers one winds forward and almost touches the steering wheel.

Incidentally, why does the passenger seat have a lever release at the top to tilt the backrest forward like in a two door ?  ;D

Thanks guys  :y :y :y

I know what you mean mate but I am wondering why it doesn't wind upright. It get to about 15 degrees before vertical and wont go any further forward.  :y

that I can't anwer  :-/ you'd have to take it out & have a look. Maybe someone before hand has forced the gearing where it now won't move. Be careful taking it out re airbags & seat belt pre-tensioners .... and watch your back- they're bl00dy heavy!

It's electric, but yes it does. It winds much further passed vertical than you'd be able to sit in the seat.  ;)

I had best have a look at it. Have told SWMBO that it is normal. She says it is like sitting in a deckchair  ;D
