Nail varnish remover or acetone will shift it, but be carefull not to use too much or rub to hard as it may damage your paint finish. try a bit on the inside of your boot lid or somewhere it wont show first if in doubt

Put some Fairy liquid in a bucket of water to use with the wet and dry paper, with the flat of your hand, just gently remove the surface of the lacquer it will turn white.

Dry off and then use rubbing compound to bring back the shine, finish up with t-cut.

Nothing against wet and dry lads but personaly I would use T-cut even if it takes a few times. But it should come off with a couple of T-cuts, if its only a mist covering. or if you can get your hands on any try the German Lack rieniger (Car paint cleaner) its also good stuff. ;)
