Title: coolant maintenance
Post by: ali on 06 May 2009, 13:32:42
After reading another thread Ive found something else I have never done :D
1 Changing the coolant, is this easy?
2 Cam belt, do I have belt or chain on Pete and Syd. How do I know if I need to change them? I have had Pete for 2 years and never even looked under the bonnet :-[ :-[ until I got Syd last month and joined OOF :y now I live under there ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

1) Fairly easy yes :y

2) Belt on the V6 and Chain on the tractor. Belt needs changing every 40k or 4 years (whichever is sooner) if unsure get it changed anyway! Chain should be good for at least 250k ;)

Next question is there guide for coolant on here?

Will look through Petes paperwork to see if any record of last belt change. :-/ As for Syd, thats more brownie points and another reason keeping him :y :y :y

Easy way, do a search, only select guides section, only chose to search titles, and put in the keyword  ;)

TBH, we need a special search facility for the guides section or atleast order them by category

Personally, would have loved to see this guide a few months back - could never find it :'(

As above, our search works fine for our needs.

Just select the guides section only when doing a search.

And come on, its only 7 pages, took me all but 15 seconds to find it the manual way

we do already - its called 'tunnie' ;)    you just have to put up with the grumpy comment accompanying the result..

seriously I agree with the suggestion. The maint guide section has grown quite a lot - even when you know something is in there its often difficult to find.

Ive read the guide and all looks very straight forward until the last page. The 2.5TD diesel has a block drain plug, so you can drain the block conveniently...
where and what is the that! where in the guide is pics ? and no ffs please  :( only just worked out what that meant ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
