Can someone tell me it's advisable to use genuine Vaux leads rather pattern parts? Ive just been told that using non vaux can damage the dispack???????? The problem is they are so expensive, one place quoted £236 and another was £230 rather than £75 from a motor factors shop. Its the same thing with the plugs, they said don't use any makes other than Bosch/GM as they can cause a misfire. I'm hoping to have the rocker cover gasket done on Wednesday and my car is still misfiring (according to RAC man it's only running on 5 cylinders) so I wanted the plugs and leads changed at the same time.

Do the leads have to be Bosch to be any good??

the only issue with the bosch ones is some are not a good fit.
I think there are 2 types allegedly fit, but one isnt a good fit.
I fell lucky and got genuine new ones on ebay at a very good price

I've just replaced mine and got some from a company called XL(through my local motor factors). They are very good all numbered at the dispack end and even come with the leads inside the tube like OE ones. I paid 45 quid. One thing to look out for. Apparently VX used different length plugs on the spark plug end. They are either 115mm or 130mm total length. Best to measure one of yours and then ask the ebayer what length his are.
