As the title suggest, I've finally found a tailgate spoiler in the right colour for my car. I realise there's two screw holes (self tappers?) and that the spoiler's stuck on with suitable goo, I presume the fixings (self tappers, bolts whatever) go right through the tailgate so that you insert them through the inside of the tailgate?
Can someone who's got one of these spoilers on there car show me a picture of roughly where the fixing holes are on the inside edge of the tailgate? I presume that the spoiler ends/corners fits flush along the corners of the tailgate? Again, a piccie of this would be handy.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Humpy
I have found my rear window gets much dirtier with a rear spoiler fitted compared to my sister's estate without one.
I was think of taking mine off :D

if thats an irmy spoiler you have then you are gonna have fun, firstly you cant lay it flush due to 2 fixed m8 studs, after that you have 4 x m8 bolts to come through from inside,[2 in the middle & 2 at the ends] the inside is double skinned so youll need a hole cutter to make a hole to get the bolts in from inside including space for a socket, if you can get the measurements off the one the spoiler came off & make a template of it all the better, the other alternative is to cut off the studs & glue it on but you will need a hole for the 3rd brakelight [if it has one] which will have to line up with the rebate in the spoiler for the wire,,,,good luck :D

just to add that when i done mine i sourced a photo off fleabay to give me some idea of how it sits as it doesnt sit flush like the factory glued one, if ive still got the photo i`ll send you it if you give me an email address as i dont know how to put it on here ;D,,,yup ive got the photo still :y,,,,,,PM sent.

It seems after being in conversation with Unlucky Alf that there are two different kinds of tailgate spoilers? Would I be right in saying that there are early and late pattern ones? Mine has kinda wrap around corners whereas some are just plain straight.

I know of 2 types of spoilers for the estates, plus at least one of them can be found in 2 versions: with and without 3rd brake light. My car came with the one with 3rd brake light.
If I was adding one on like you are doing I would probably find a good industrial strength glue (eg SIKA) and simply stick it on.
It was already said, but let me repeat it anyway, the rear window does get much dirtier with spoiler. I would still want it on my car cause they look so much better with it.

Chaps,
The one I've got looks like this

Are the fixings for this any different than mentioned?
