Not able to help on this but I'm sure one of our experts will be along to give some advice either later (although bit late now) or tomorrow. Don't despair! ;)

Not an expert but when you say your water pump went, do you mean it was simply leaking or did it brake up(pump blades).

When the system has cooled down try removing the header tank cap and running the engine up to temperature whilst squeezing the hoses to make sure you have dispelled all the air in the system :).

Mate,

dont wait for the worse to happen. Just do a full flush of the cooling system and get out all the gunk. Then fill up again using a 50-50 of VX genuine red coolant and water.

I think this might help you out. Your normal temp should sit in just below the middle of the gauge and your fans should kick in at around 92 deg. By the way, are the fans kicking in?

Cheers
Z

Fans are working fine the noise started about 10mins into test drive heater working fine no loss of coolant, power started to run sluggish like it was missing then it started running hot over 100

Its a 2.5 so should run about 95 anyway...but as said flush the system, constant overheating will lead to HG failure so get it sorted soon and dont use it till it is (if at all possible) :y

Check the cam timing.....did the failed water pump shred the belt?

Is it timed up correctly though....did the aux belt get shredded?

I'll be passing High Wycome on the 20th and can help out with a cam locking kit.

The concern here is that when the aux belt shredded something got trapped in the cam belt causing it to jump a few teeth or more.

Until you are absoutely certain the cam timing is ok - don't run it

the aux belt did not shred the water punp blade halfed and the water pump bearings were every where

Could be a few of things causing the overheating.
Could be an airlock like you suggested, in which case it would probably be best to drain the system and re fill, then with the filler tank cap off, squeeze the bottom and top radiator hoses untill no more bubbles come out.
If its not that it maybe the thermostat has jammed shut. When the engine is hot is the radiator hoses and rad its self getting hot too? If so the stat is working ok.
