Title: Bosal exhaust question
Post by: Ironingboard on 18 May 2009, 13:48:54
Ok, I've read the various comments about exhausts and stuff, but has anyone bought a Bosal back box part number 185-215, can anyone tell me if they have chrome tips on it, parts guy told me there are two types of bosal parts, cheap and standard, he says standard (185-215) has chrome tips. Is this right?

no idea:  tell him to get one in and then you can see it.  If he's right then he's got a sale.  If not then he's got a problem but he must believe he's right!

Yeah I was tempted, but something tells me they would want a deposit, besides I was also told that the walker system had chrome tips as well, unsure what one to go with

Judging by the reviews from people here... Eternal is better, at a much lower price :y :y :y

Fitted a walker system to my 2.5 last week cat back. Chose Walker as looking through there cataloque they showed the clam style system,
i.e. same as original fit. Sadly on enquirey its now been modified to normal style (same as Vauxhall system). It still seemed a fairly well built and heavy system compared to some and although in answer to your original question the tail pipe is not chrome but black and is of much heavier guage and looks very similar to original spec.
Fit was excellent perfect in fact went on in about 30 minutes. :)
Only problem I had was drilling out Cat bolts about 4 hours, :'( still it was original 10 years 98000 miles old.

If you're still looking around, have a look at a Powerflow system. Not massively expensive and custom fitted to your motor. Stainless is the way to go and you get a lifetime guarantee with it. Good luck

There's a place that does free-flow exhausts near where I stay. Was quoted £400 for a full system, said he might do it a bit cheaper.

But I think I'll go for the Eternal one for the price and what I've read about them can't go wrong, at least the middle sections look like the original clam style.
