What year phil?? Box in the drivers footwell is the central locking ECU and does not affect the immobiliser system...seperate Immobiliser box only exists on very early Omegas and is behind the glovebox...
Bit round the steering wheel is the replacement of this as it is the Immobiliser ECU...
Chip in the key talks to the Immobiliser ECU which tells the ECU its ok to start the engine...to avoid reprogramming you will need the ECU, Immobiliser ECU and key chips to all match
