Title: Went to top up my screen wash today and found I ca
Post by: Harvin on 12 May 2009, 19:11:13
Went to top up my screen wash today and found I can’t open the bonnet.
The latch handle seems to have a lot of play in it.
Any body got any ideas?

Put your screen wash in a squeezy bottle!!  ::)   ::)  ::)  ::)

Try getting someone to press on the front edge of the bonnet as you pull the lever. When  :-/ you get it open, it needs the slack taking out with the clamp on the outer sleeve adjusting .... under the plastic trim across the slam panel.

If the bonnet feels overly firm then something my be trapped under the bonnet...check for anything being above where it should be in the engine bay and stopping the bonnet closing easily :y This can cause the bonnet to be hard to open...and if not then as said remove the slack in the cable...the bolt is under the passengers side black plastic cover of the 3 little covers at the front of the engine bay

Hi all ran out of time yesterday to try and sort the bonnet, it was my lads 21st and we were out most of the day.
The motor is in for its MOT and full service today so I have handover the job to my local garage.

Harvin.

Hi all just and update the motor pass its MOT. :y
Only requiring a rear coil spring near side, this joins the one that was put on last year to the off side.
My garage sorted out the bonnet at no charge so pretty please really.

Thanks to everyone for all the help on this problem if it goes again I know what to do cheers.
