Hey all, im a new Omega owner so please forgive me if i ask any stupid questions.
I have just bought a 00 Omega 3.0 Elite (Facelift)
1) I know this car has air suspension, but i have a feeling that my pump is not working as its sitting very high at the rear, going by a receipt new springs were fitted to the car last year, is it possible the wrong springs were fitted and thats the reason it sits so high? Is there a control for the suspension?

2)I intend to lower it by 40mm can i keep the orignal air suspension shocks?
3)There is a storage box just next to the fuse box with a switch in it whats this for? it doesnt seem to do a thing.

Hi, welcome to the forum and nice looking car :)
To answer your suspension question yes your car is sitting too high at the rear - mine has been suffering the same problem - it's more than lilkely the rear sensor that's causing the problem, it could be telling the pump to send more air into the system to compensate for a load it thinks is there.
If you look peer into the rear wheel arch over the top of the tyre you will see the rear shocker and a little pipe connecting to it - this is connected to the shocker by using a spring clip that is quite easy to release - careful though as it will be under pressure and will pop off with a big woosh and the shocker will start to retract very quickly so get your arm out the way :) then push the connector back on and your suspension will be back to a more normal level, it will of course creep back up as you use the car but it should prove that its the air suspension rather than the springs. :y
The rear sensor is on the drivers side located on the wishbone.

Thanks Darren, i just unpluged the connection and a bit of air came out but not much, it didnt seem to go, so its probably incorrect springs used. Its a good excuse to buy new lowering springs.
Any idea what the button is for in the storage compartment beide the fuse box?

Yes sounds like you possibly do have incorrect springs fitted, maybe the previous owner was towing something really substantial....
As for the switch in the compartment this doesn't sound like something that is standard fit - possibly a cut off switch? maybe post up a pic of it and someone may recognise what it's for. if it's connected have a go at tracing the wiring to see where it goes.

No toe bar on the car but going by an old mot failure slip last year the rear spring were replaced because the orignals had a crack. Vauxhall fitted the replacements springs tho. ::)
I will get a picture of the button tomorrow.

has anyone tried to lower a car with air suspension? would adjusting the height sensor rod not do as i would do this on trucks to save having to get the suspension re-calibrated every time. works a treat with 11t on the back axle and no problems with air bags, etc. either lenghten or shorten as required. i would try this on my own but dont have any lowered springs yet.
