Title: rear wheel bearing?

how much i got a dum dum dum dum noise coming from the back at low speeds then today on way in i was doing 70 (ish) and could hear a whine coming from the back

does it ease when you go around any corners?

not really, you can only hear it at low speeds i.e. under 25mph really

when my rear bearing went, the noise eases as you go round the opposite corner to the dodgy bearnig (removing the load)  it also got louder at faster speeds.

It could be your Diff whining, can you check the fluid level?  may need a top up.

its a 2.5 auto, i will have a test on my way home,

found my MOT advisories when i bought it 2 weeks ago and said play in wheel bearing i might jack it up tonight and see if any play,

How do i check the level? is it easy to do?

Mr clutch will check and change my fluid for me, found on google that it needs to be done at 70ishk, im on 90,

plus i changed the oil sunday and it was minging so wouldnt be suprised if it hadnt been done

thats what i gathered, well will have a look tonight see if much play and get the fluid done anyway, said it wont take long,

Had a rear wheel bearing replaced on my Elite several weeks ago.Local garage gave me a fixed price for labour at 3.25 hours and I bought the bearing from VX which cost me £30 on TC.
Garage said when I collected it that they had under quoted for job as it took them nearly double the time,but as we had agreed price and accepted it was their loss.
As Jimbob says,can be a real pig so best advise is get garage to do it,but agree price first.
My symptoms were as described,very whiney at speed but would ease when realesed load off bad side,but it didn,t have any play in wheel.

I have s squealin sound but in the front left wheel.
Actually it cannot be heard all the time only when you cross over bumps on the road.
Is this the same problem (wheel bearing)?
