Title: Cooling Fans
Post by: Steve Brookman on 30 May 2009, 18:11:11
Hello all.
Towed with the Omega last week and realised how close it is towing to my Range Rover. Stability is far superior with the Omega but the Range Rover just pips it on long hills. Saying that though it pulled like a train up the Heads of the Valleys from Neath to Merthyr which if anyone knows this road is a good test of any towcar.

The 3.0 is far better than the 2.5 I towed with for 8 years.
Just a question-are the cooling fans two stage and if they are at what temp are they supposed to kick in?

The car never went over about 97 degrees towing and I'm just interested.

Thanks

Steve

Fans kick in between 92 to 95 deg for me. Your running temp of 97 max when towing seems to be pretty god mate!  :y

They both run at half speed at some stage, & then full speed. sorry I can't be more helpful with temps etc

Thanks all.

I must add that when giving the car a bit of welly going up the hills I pressed the instantaneous MPG and it was reading 7.5MPG.
