1999 Elite Estate 3.0 mini-facelift??
I was having intermittent problems with my Remote Key buttons not working everytime. My second key never worked. My local garage have now fixed that and both keys don't work full stop. The embarrassing bit is that now when I lock the car up using standard key in lock, the alarm goes off when I unlock and only clears on starting the car. Bad at 2 o-clock in the morning.
Is it possible to block the alarm by any means other than ripping wires out.
Second question how much for new keys and reprogramming, or are the transponders in the keys repairable or replaceable. I live in Stoke-on-Trent/Crewe area.
Regards Dave

If you don't need the alarm, you can always disconnect the power sounder. There's a how to on this site :y

I understand that using the key to unlock the car will set the alarm off. I am sure I read that the only way to properly turn the alarm off is to use the fob.
May be cheaper to change ecu and locks with a set of a breaker on here than have keys reprogramed, my brother was quoted £45 for a renult key and that was just 1, not 2.

Buy a key off e-bay .. about £25 ... change the horseshoe bit to yours, take a trip to one of the Tech 2 holders (TB or Mark) and have it reprogrammed .... :)
