Title: Code 57 IACV voltage low. WHY????
Post by: dave abra on 30 May 2009, 19:51:39
I have been having issues with the car cutting out.  you sugested the idle air control valve.

I actually got hold of a new one which was going fine but i now have a code 57. Paper clip test is really handy.
Why would i have low voltage to the control valve.

can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi

Yeah it seems to be intact. Have tried cleaning conection but it looks very clean already.

Took it out today and was ok for a few miles and then cut out. Started fine and idle ok for rest trip which was not far.
Didn't do it on way home at all.
Could the air flow meter be faulty?

I have run out of ideas on it. There seems to be no holes in pipes, it cuts out when slowing and is now hesitating at most revs.

If anyone has ideas of what it could be i am all ears.
Thanks
David

I have checked all fuses and as many connectors as i can see and they are all tight and clean.

Any other suggestions?

Dave

I have the same code on mine. There were a few suggestions from people to take the IACV off and clean it thoroughly with lots of carb cleaner. Not had chance to do it yet so can't tell you if it works.

If you find a solution then please let me know.  :y
