I have an omega 2.6 2002, does the timing belt tensioner come as an individual item or must I buy the belt kit as the kit is very expensive it costs about 500 pounds sterling and how much will the tensioner cost :

Hi, welcome to the forum.
£500 is extremely expensive. In the UK, geniuine branded kit is around £100. Abroad, it shouldn't be even close to £500.
Where are you based and where did you get the cost of £500 from?

You can buy the tensioner as individual item.
For my car it was around 20 pounds (or maybe a little less)

a full kit should cost you about £100 all in: belt tensioner everything you need

Try http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/timing_belt_display.php?txtmodel=OMEGA&Submit=Next&txtmake=VAUXHALL - Contitech kits (OEM supplier) ie Vx kit. Used two - good quality :y - £45.50 + VAT for complete kit!

I am in Swaziland but we get our parts from South Africa...typical costs - water pump R4000 (340 pounds) - Radiator - R6500 (540 pounds) - front brake pads - R1800 (150 Pounds). all very expensive and the only place we can get from are the GM agents :(

I can see a market here.... Someone in the UK buys parts and starts shipping to Swaziland ::) ::) ::) :y :y :y
In all seriousness, try eBay as a lot of sellers will ship abroad at cost, and it'll still work out considerably cheaper :y :y :y
