Got a long crack nearside bottom corner of my Elites windscreen. My insurers use either Autoglass or Auto Windscreens. Anyone had experience of either?

Autoglass have always been spot on with old and new cars alike. 8-) 8-)
They even helped me to get an old car through the MOT without charge. Great guys :y :y :y

Autoglass are very good, they did my BM, also done my astra van in the past good experiances from both :y

Agreed Autoglass have had to replace my Traktor's twice & the Micra twice as well (we don't have a lot of luck with glass!) :)

check the car for scratches around the window (when they clean the old insulation they can do that easily :-/),
plastic insulators correctly fitted ,
and have a test with multiple buckets of water for leakage ;D :y

Thanx all, have used Autoglass long ago - side glass in Rover 827, windscreen in TR6 - all ok. Last time used them was for tailgate glass in Mondeo Ghia Estate - not a great job, but the guy that did the fitting did seem a bit thick!!
Will give em a try :y

I recently had to use Autoglass for mine, and they were spot on. Hopefully I won't need them again for a long time, but if I did I wouldn't hestitate to use them.

have had good experience on the 2 occassions i have used autoglass.
I did same as you and asked on here, some of the longer standing members where a bit sceptical and suggested removing the internal A pillar covers.
You may want to consider removing the scuttle... ? Also ask them to report on any rust in the surround, it may have caused the crack in the first place. Have seen it on another members car.
Oh, one more thing. I had mine replaced last thing on a friday. Drove it home and it creeked like mad, good job they where closed as i would have complained. But within 24 hours it gradually stopped creeking, no problem. My neighbour had very similar experience, sounds like the glue takes a good 24 hours to set fully.

My experience of autoglass was good, however it took them 10 days to get the windscreen for my miggy as it has auto wipers, and whats more they had never fitted a windscreen with auto wipers to a miggy before, all said and done two weeks and the car was back on the road, good job done.
