any one know of a cheap air con top up in hertfordshire
thanx :y

Cheap top ups are not recommended kingplym. I think it's worth to have your a/c checked and regassed by a pro :y

Kwik - Fit [sorry for swearing] do for a reasonable price
As for standard ?
Think they charge about £45.00 but may have gone up?

You beat me to it Iggy. Local Kwik Fit (I know, I know) are doing recharge for £45 and if they can't recharge it then you don't pay! :y

Don't use Kwik Fit - they'll only break it up!!! :(

Not worth it unless you have the correct kit to remove old gas and re-charge with correct measures of gas and oil.
And certainly not with that absolute pants kit from Halfrauds >:(
Knowingly venting refrigeration gas to the atmosphere carries a hefty fine...and when I say hefty, I mean £30k rings a bell.

i used these - very very good - checked it all, checked for leaks, emptied and cleaned, re gassed fully, checked again - freezing and totally efficient. cant remember cost...think about 80 or 90 quid but well worth it. :y :y
dont use cheapie top ups...false economy and half of them dont do it properly.

all advice taken and noted
thanx :y

i spoke to someone last night and he said he has a friend who re-gases refrigerators and that he top up his friends before for a tenner?
i suppose this is technically the same process, so it should be ok, shouldnt it? :-/
any help :y

Done properly, which shitfit often don't, you want to be vaccing it for 45-60m, then checking it holds the vac (so no major leaks), then refilling.
Don't even think of diy, it needs special equipment to properly do it.

diy jobbies - had two in the past ended up going to a specialist £ 45 ( now has offered to check mine re-gas for £30 ) he,s mobile and remembers me from the past two years. :)
