I had a look at my headlight alignment yesterday and discovered that the nearside has no kickup. It is very obvious on the other side but completely flat on nearside.
It got through MOT just over a month ago. Would this be a bulb, lense or carrier problem.
2000 (W) xenon lights.

Thanks. Could you explain the levers in a little more detail for me? Do you mean the level adjusters or am I off the mark? :y

And inexpensive! The hardest thing is getting your hand in, especially the nearside, behind the battery. :y :y

I left mine untill I got home. From what I've come across, it doesn't seem as though all lights have a kick up, some just seem to have a flat dipped beam & so are suitable for left & right hand drive. :-?

They are 'flat' (and low) in continental mode, and kick up (and are higher) in native country mode
-
Yes! I know. :y I was talking about other makes & types of car in general. eg in a multistory car park yesterday and the car a few spaces down had its lights on and the beam on both lights was flat, unlike SWMBO's Astra.
-
MMMMM not as easy as expected. I failed to mention that the kickup difference is on dipped beam. So it is the xenon bulb that is incorrect.
I ended up taking the headlight out to get to the back of the xenon bulb for this lever lol then found it on the main beam bulb, both of which were set the same (up).
Any ideas now :question

Dipped beam is where the kick-up should be :y, and as per the hand book, left is UP and right is DOWN. :y
-
Both were set in the up position, both the same but nearside is completely flat. How would adjusting this lever affect the dipped xenon bulb? The main beam is a seperate halogen bulb, that has the lever.
I'm confused :-/
-
Sorry, confusion over. I have just watched the lens shift on the xenon when I moved lever. Idiot!!
Ok final question, when it says Left UP and Right DOWN, is that as you face the car?

Left & right are normally as you sit in the car. You should be able to the beam pattern change quite easily if you shine it against a garage door etc
-
Agree, you beat me to it there.

Thanks for your help Andy, I shall correct them and have a look when a bit darker.
Cheers :y
