Started to notice a weird noise coming from front passenger wheel in car today, when i got back i knocked it a few places and it sounded like metal to metal contact. Its not the wheel knocking brake disc or calliper and the bolts seem tight.
Any ideas what it is?
Will this be expensive, and if i dont fix it what will happen?
Cheers

Try bending the 'dust shield' at the back of the 'brake disc' out of the way, good luck.

Been playing around some more, poked caliper with reasonable force and it moved a tiny bit and made the same metally noise. I have no idea what to do about this......

ok can you get some pics posted up? what's the noice like: scaping, thumping??? does it change with road speed? Have you tried jacking the front up and spinning the wheel listening for the noise?

The noise sounded more like a tyre noise really, i only noticed becuase the window was open earlier.
The noise when knocked by hand sounds like a piece of metal hitting another
Havnt taken the wheel off yet, but looking through the holes the caliper looks tatty, but that doesnt meant alot to me
I had all discs and pads changed about 22k ago
