Hi guys have taken the oil cooler out and have now got new one in. however I didnt listen and now cant get banjos back in becuase i havent released pipes at the bottom by oil filter. I havnt got crows foot socket they come tomorrow much to wifes disgust she thinks i got too many tools as it is.I have wandered off reason for contacting you all. I had drained the water by rad drain and removing bottom hose however the water remained in ths vee around the oil cooler even with the cooler out it stayed is this right or should it drain away im worried that I have a blockage that may make her overheat
Finally the core of the oil cooler was blocked and it had little mud balls all around it i assume this was from the oil and water mixing anyone else seen this :o

I would have thought your closed thermostat would prevent the coolant from draining from the engine so nothing to worry about :y

The water will say in your "Vee" unless you remove the water pump mate. If you want to get some of the water out a good tool to have is a Turkey Baister :y

thanks for advice guys used sponge to get water out now just to finish putting it all back together and fingers well and truly crossed for no leaks then in for the dreaded mot. Im now on the lookout for a later model this has been a totally reliable car until now but it is getting old although judging by some of the mileages with 114000 showing its a youngster.
