Seen a few posts about crank sensors on V6's but not much about the 2litre ones.
I can trace the wiring over the front of the cam cover, down the side of the block and behind the power steering pump but thats about all that can bee seen. Surely you dont have to remove air-con pump, PAS pump, engine mount etc just to get to the crank sensor??? :o
Btw, I have an intermittent engine management light with code 335-incorrect RPM signal which i'm guessing is the crank sensor :-/

Undo the p/s and aircon pumps, undo the bracket holding the pumps, move them forward. Should give you enough room :y

I did it last Monday, it was really very easy.
Remove the heatshield from the exhaust manifold, also the oil dipstick tube. It can be stuck.
Now, you can see the sensor's small bolt, only from a distance, same size as the bolts used for the heatshield.
Next, very important, put a piece of cotton in the opening for the oiltube. With a long extension bar it is possible to remove the bolt.
The connection on the other side of the cable just passes between the engineblock and bracket, also the other way round (new one)
Don't forget the small o-ring.
I was surprised how easy it really was, I did it as a precaution, end of the month, I go to Ireland with the caravan.

Thanks for the replys, I managed it in the end by removing dipstick tube and engine mount and jacking up on the sump, which gave me enough room to get to the sensor but I think the problem is more complex than just a faulty sensor >:(
