hi just got my new 2.2 tdi cd miggi 03 plate and the guy who had it b4 me has been mixing red and normal deisel in the tank will this affect the running now im putting normal deisel in cheers

The red is only dye so should not think it would do any harm.

Yup, the DIESEL is the same fuel, but has a red dye added. There is also a chemical marker that can be detected by Customs & exercise, who can seize your car. :-[

Thats the only thing that would worry me... how to explain and prove it wasn't you using red diesel in it? :-/

Yes, you can hardly bubble the previous owner, nor can you prove it was not you. Difficult one. :-/

I wouldn't worry too much about it. No doubt they can tell how recently the red diesel was used, and anyway, do you know of anyone that has had their diesel checked.
I've had a diesel for about 8 years and never been checked, nor do I know anyone who has.
I know it happens and people have been caught but it's rare.

well i work as a digger driver and customs is on our site at least once a month pestering us i think it depeneds where u work if u have easy way of getting the stuff i heard if u drain the tank and start again with white diesel it ok oh clean the filler cap and around it they swab there too :y :y
