My Drivers side airbag circuit has sent the light on again >:(
Resistance on the circuit should be 2.5 ohms ish, mine has gone up to 6.5 again.
Last (and previous) times, unplugging and replugging the airbag in the seat back resolves this, even used a switch / contact cleaner on it last time, which brings it down exactly where it should be, so this connector MUST be the issue.
Anyone any ideas how I can resolve this permanently? Getting a bit of a pain now.

Try the contact cleaner again, it seems to have resolved my issue (fingers crossed).
I've used the contact cleaner 3 times now, last time was 15 months ago.

is it the seat or the wheel this time? I recall it was seat last time, but doesn't mean its the same again.
If it is the seat, I guess 2ohm resistor across seat contacts, leaving seat disconnected, and regular live data to prove if its in the seat or in another part of loom?
There is a tis article about seat to squib connectors, think resolution was to solder it

Yes the seat.
If you remember when we did live data the 1st time, the floor wires were fine.
Its deffo the yellow connector that connects to the airbag itself thats the issue, my live data has proved that time and time again.
doesnt look to be a soldering solution possible as its the 2 small pins the connector goes onto.
seat is early MV6 fabric one.
can have a look over the weekend if we get a chance.
(wheel circuit ever so slightly high, but always has been and not been a problem)

Have you read the tis article, may give clues on the soldering? Not got tis handy, so can't give you the ref.

unless the squib itself is 'dangle berries'ed? IIRC, you can't measure the resistance of squib with meter, only via live data from ECU...

Fit a 3.3ohm resistor in parralel with the airbag.
The airbag will still fire and the ECU will be happy.

Seem to recall something really odd about the SA6 setup (but in a different car) with the way the components short themselves out when good and o/c when not so good (hence why you can't use a meter to measure stuff). Based on that, I think I'd be down the scrappy getting a new side bag if possible, as a longer trm solution.

Yup, I have the ECU live data.

It will make the ECU see a resistance of around 1.7 (bit too low) - 3ohms, thus ecu will be happy, and not bring on light. In accident, that side bag may or may not fire. I think ecu likes to see 2-4ohms (entirely from memory), so maybe 4o better?

so get a 3.7 ohm resistor.......makes little odds as to date, the airbag is showing 6ohms so 3.3 in parralel gives 2 ohms.
And dont worry about understanding it Jimbob, its electricery and ohms law :y

As this fault isnt constant - no continuous live data to show if resistance does alter 'on the fly' what are the consequences off adding a resistor when the airbag is behaving normally at 2 ohms?

Well, had another squirt of contact cleaner, all back together, and reading 2.5 ohm again!
least its off for the weekend!

Light back on, so disassembled again, and more contact cleaner.
Success no more Side airbag resistance high (was over 6 ohms again)
ohh hang on....
Side airbag resistance Low WTF!!!!! Now its sitting at .67 ohms, FFS!!!!
any body got any matches?

Check for an intermittent connection. IIRC, these srs components go low resistance when not connected, wonder if ecu saw that
