Title: Throttle Bodies
Post by: amba on 25 June 2009, 21:28:34
Are the throttle bodies identical and inter-changable between the 2.5 and 3.0 ,or are there any differences?

No they are different...one pulls from the top one from the bottom so butterflies open different way to one another...

So,what effect,if any ,would you have in fitting 3.0,s to a 2.5 engine......would it make it idle higher/lower or uneven.........as lots of threads state power increase with different throttle bodies/or is it another myth.?

My tourer is a 2.5 car with a 3.0 engine in...originally throttle body was 3.0 one and the car struggled as the butterflies were opening the wrong way around...

2.5 throttle body on it and alls well and cant see any noticable difference tbh...
