Title: Clutch & Dual Mass flywheel
Post by: 924boy on 26 June 2009, 17:20:24
my '97 2.5 v6 needs a new clutch after getting extremely hot whilst towing up steep hills and getting lots of slipping. It doesn't slip now but is difficult to get into gear. Whats the liklihood the dmf will need replacing and the slave cylinder? all the parts seem very expensive wherever I've looked...  :-/

on the gearbox is an arm where the cabel goes in, normaly you can adjust them by tightening or losening the nut on the end. not to sure with the mig though my car is missing this pedal.
but the other guys would put me right.

Lol, no adjustment possible on the clutch....as its hydraulic!

Anyway, depends hwo hot its got.

On Omegas, the slave cylinders dont go and the DMF's are very reliable, the only question will be, has the clutch got so hot that its damaged the DMF.

lots of slipping but once cooled down seemed to be fine. its just tight when putting it into gear now but drives fine.
