Title: 2.5TD Injection pump
Post by: Turk on 30 June 2009, 00:34:09
Well, it's finally sorted. Changed the injection pump last wednesday and it sorted the issue I had originally, but was being starved of fuel.
Got a submerged pump out my spares bin (a.k.a my Elite) and swapped them over.
Sorted :y

The pump was actually working but well gummed up, so I swapped them anyway.

It's not 100% as I would like it, but that is probably the timing needing a smidge of a tweek. That can wait until I source the proper guages to set it spot-on. I've had a pants full of smelling of diesel for a while.

Many thanks to Omegatoy, TB and Richie08 for advice and input  :y :y

Ahh. Is it a diesel Elite? There aren't many td elites about, so I'm assuming you've put a petrol pump into a diesel tank?

I wasn't aware they were the same pump.

No matey, it's a 2.5td Elite auto ('94)

Had it for about 8 years. 225k miles on the clock...and the engine was sweet as can be.
The o/s rear shock came through the top mount about 2 years ago, so I thought it time to change.

So far I've used the cruise control stalk as my curent CD did not have CC, the inlet manifold, a/c condensor rad, Throttle body, wiper mechanisim and today the submerged pump.
I got the injector pump off Richie08 as his issue was sorted by chipping.
