Title: Air con, Can hear it leaking

Hi All, to cut a long story short, 99 mini F/L 2.5CDX I put a new engine in 18months ago all ok, recharged air con all ok till last week.
Lost all its gas, had chap out today to recharge and there is green stuff over the pump and I can hear a leak around the compressor pump area like a bicycle tyre tube leaking.

Now I think it is either compressor pump or pipes or O rings on the connector block, I wiggled the pipes as much as I could and no change in the noise, so I don't think it is the pipes or O rings. That leaves me thinking it is the compressor pump itself. Has anyone had anything similar or can suggest any other possibility ?

P.S. I ask as changing the compressor is a bit fiddly, have done one before but if it possibly something else would like to no. Fore warned is fore armed as they say.

i have just had a chap come out to my aircon and tell me theres a huge leak from my compressor he lost all the gas he put in the sytem al lmost straight away thats how bad it is.so ive just orderd a second hand one of ebay so i will try that
